![]() ![]() It means that the latest version of Topaz DeNoise AI replaces 3 original plugins Topaz DeNoise, Topaz Clarity, and Topaz Detail. ![]() Now, you have the option not only to reduce noise but to apply sharpening as well. The significant addition to the AI version of the Topaz DeNoise plugin is the sharpening functionality. Even though both applications have noise reduction tools, nothing comes even close to mirroring the effect of DeNoise. Typically, it is possible to achieve the same effect of pretty much any plugin using Photoshop however, DeNoise is one of those plugins whose effect I cannot completely replicate using either Photoshop or Lightroom. This is the only plugin I use with every single image I post on my blog.Īny Photoshop or Lightroom plugin is a simple “shortcut” or time saver. If I had to choose only one Topaz plugin, it would definitely be Topaz DeNoise. In order to help photographers who are just starting to use Topaz software, I have listed the plugins I use in the order of importance for my photography. And of course, they slapped AI (Artificial Intelligence) suffix to all the products. Needless to say, it took me a long time to figure out what product to use and when.īut over the last few years, Topaz Labs completely restructured its products by depreciating many original plugins and introducing new ones. At one point, they had 16 different plugins, and, in most cases, their functions overlap with each other. I have to admit that Topaz Labs had one of the most confusing structures of its products. ![]() Not surprisingly, two of the most common questions my readers ask me about the Topaz products are: “What plugin should I incorporate in my editing workflow, and when do I use it?” Topaz Labs Software Review or Cheat Sheet for Choosing the Right Topaz Plugins You also probably noticed that every photo posted on this blog was edited, at some point, with at least one or two Topaz Software Labs plugins. Just annoyed me seeing it there. As a reader of my blog, you know that I am pretty open about my editing as I reveal the processing steps for almost every photo I publish. ![]() For anyone who cares: I just renamed tltopazdenoiseaibetaps_圆4.8bf in C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz DeNoise AI\PS_Plugins_圆4\ to tltopazdenoiseaibetaps_圆4.8bf.txt and that eliminated the BETA version from the filter list. Apparently I'm easily confused, but problem seems to be resolved. Just removed DN v1.33 from the AP filter list, restarted AP, found a Denoise AI in the Topaz Labs list, that runs the non-beta version of DN AI 2.0 just fine. Thank you, Glen, obviously I missed the obvious. I'm going to remove Denoise AI v1.33 in the Topaz Labs listing and see if that fixes anything. 8bf plug-ins, as they're loaded from that directory.) But, now there are four entries for Topaz plugins: Since I'm now convinced it's a Topaz issue, I'm going to wait a day or two, surely someone else has already run into this same problem.īefore this upgrade, the plug-ins were working fine. No error number, just the message I posted. They will be useful to tech support of either company. I'd just upgraded Sharpen AI to 2.0.4, and it launches just fine.Īlso, if there are error message numbers displayed when the error pops up, write them down. If it NIK does not it is likely a Serif issue if it does launch, and the different Topaz plugin also launches, the problem is likely a DeNoise specific issue, if the different Topaz Plugin doesn't launch, it is likely a Topaz environmental issue. If they Do launch successfully, try a different Topaz plugin trial and see if IT will load from Affinity photo. However, to lessen the uncertainty, try downloading a different plugin trial (Say, Nik tools) and see if THEY will successfully launch. I suspect that it is likely a Topaz problem. ![]()
